Too selfish

You have been named supreme ruler of the universe. Your first order of business is creating and instituting a holiday or festival in your honor. What day of the year is your holiday? What special events will take place? Describe YOU DAY in as great a detail as you can muster: the special foods we’ll consume, the decorations we’ll use…everything.

Supreme ruler of the universe! Not my city, or my country or even the Earth. The universe! Do the daily prompt editors want us to play god? I’m not going to follow.

I don’t like the idea of a human leader whose first step is creating a festival or a holiday in his or her own honor. Too selfish, egocentric and inefficient. Not good qualities for a good ruler. I would like a leader committed to solve the problems of this world. A ruler who would do his or her job first and then, with results, if there are reasons for celebration, celebrate. How? I really don’t care.

Daily Prompt: Festivus for the Rest of Us.
