Birthday party

I don’t remember exactly how old was I when it happened. I was little. I had had trouble making friends at school because I didn’t know the language, and because we were the only foreign family in the neighborhood. I was learning to talk fast. Some girls and even teachers at school used to make jokes about my way to talk something I didn’t understand. But I found very friendly people. I even was invited to a birthday party once.

I get encouraged and I decided to invite all my classmates to my birthday party As they did. I was excited. The day before, September 26, I prepared with my mom a lot of things for my friends. We expected to have 15 or so coming

But the day arrived and only two showed up: my best friend and my neighbor. I was sad and upset, but I couldn’t show my feelings being with my guests. I remember vividly my efforts to look happy with my two friends when I wanted to cry. Above all at the beginning, when we were waiting for the rest, and waiting, and waiting, without luck .

Once we understood that our party would be a matter of three, we began to play and forget the others and have fun together. And we had. A lot of fun. My two friends were really good. They still being my friends.
