Travel to innocence

by | Apr 1, 2014 | daily prompt

If you could return to the past to relive a part of your life, either to experience the wonderful bits again, or to do something over, which part of you life would you return to? Why?

I like to live the present. I don’t see the need to revisit the past. What happened is part of my life. Part of who I am. A life with its failures and its successes, its good moments and its bad moments, its joys and its sorrows. But it’s my story and I can’t imagine another different. All the big decisions I took in my life have been taken out of love. So no need to do over important things.

There have been a lot of wonderful moments in my life. I treasure them but I just would leave them where they are, in the past.

Just to answer to the prompt I’ll say maybe I would return to my childhood, to be completely innocent again, free of worries, and enjoy playing hours and hours with my brother and my sisters. Be together again, giving free rein to our imagination, pretending to be pirates, wizards, knights and princesses, with our makeshift, paper made, crowns, hats, swords and cloaks. Imagining the park or our home was the Caribbean or an ancient castle with the most fabulous stories going on. We didn’t need many things or expensive toys to have a great time playing, just our imagination and being together.
