Sunrise, sunset

How often do you get to (or have to) be awake for sunrise? Tell us about what happened the last time you were up so early (or late…).

Since I wake up at at 6:30, I say hello to the sunrise almost every day. Nothing special come to my mind. i live in an apartment with no very good sights. So I only notice how, gradually, the light increases. Nothing romantic. No golden rays of sunshine filtering through the curtains, creating a warm and peaceful environment. Just day light in my kitchen where I’m usually busy with breakfast. What happened today? Nothing out of the usual.

I like sunrises and sunsets in nature above all in the mountain and over the sea. Contemplate the changing colours in the horizon gives me peace.

Every sunrise, every sunset, even those that pass unoticed, because they are not spectacular, means the inexorable flow of the time.

As the Fiddler on the Roof’s song says:

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

New Dawn.
