War and corruption: what else?

Iraqi forces move against Islamic State in Sunni heartland Anbar. That was the third headline, since I visit mostly websites about world news. But I’m not inclined to write here a post about the Islamic State, the war in Iraq and Syria or the massacres the groups affiliated to ISIL are perpetrating around the world. I use this blog ,precisely to forget about those kind of news and write about other things. I looked in my local paper but the third headline was about corruption. A case in which the brother-in-law of the king of Spain is involved. It seems he took advantage of being the son-in-law of the former king to do some irregular business. The news is that a defense lawyer of one of the defendants wants to call the same king Felipe, his father former king Juan Carlos and his mother queen Sofia as witnesses during the trial. Now the judge has to decide what to do. The whole process has become a spectacle. That lawyer wants to call almost 700 witnesses. War and corruption: what else? fortunately life has many other things to offer.

Ripped from the Headlines.
