Well done!

Hmm… this boy is improving his reading skills day by day. Well done! I remember when he couldn’t say a complete word without hesitating and mistakes. It was very difficult to follow the meaning of the sentences. But he was so excited reading them that I began to listened intently to encourage him. We stop every day after our walk in a quiet place and he begins to read to me. Now I’m the one excited, because he brings wonderful books from the school library and from his father’s shelfs. I remember his father. He was a little rascal. Liked to play. I don’t blame him. He had to work hard all day with me, carrying tourists here and there, in tours, for a few coins. But he was clever and learned languages to communicate with his customers. Once, a man who came from England decided to stay here for ever, and sort of adopted him. Taught him to read and began to give him books as an extra payment for every tour. Reading became a passion for that kid. New worlds with which he dreamed opened to his imagination. He began to tell me about them. I was afraid he was going to leave me alone, and go away to travel around the world. Who knows with whom as my new master? But he had no money to fulfil his dreams. Only books. And imagination. Never left the country. He grew up got married and had a son. Taught him to read very soon. Now the kid practices with me. I have no means to tell him I know the stories by heart. I’ve heard all of them before. And I have a very good memory. But I don’t care. listening to him is so refreshing! I’m so happy with this reading sessions! It’s a great, peaceful way to end a day of hard work.
