Strange times

by | Dec 2, 2020 | challenges, our life

Our streets used to be plenty of tourists and pilgrims of the Way of St. James all year long. But this Pandemic has ruined all. Now we are by ourselves, enjoying our city, yes, but at the same time sadly seeing how many small stores are closing because of the economic crisis that has come with the virus.
The government decided to close the bars and restaurants to prevent the spread of the infection. Now many of them are in bankruptcy and will not open again.

Since last Sunday, when they lightened the Christmas decorations in the streets, people are more joyful. Today, they have permitted to open the terraces of bars and restaurants. They can only serve food and drinks in the open air, not inside their installations. It’s cold outside, but people are filling all the available seats. All are longing to go back to normal, but we know this will be a long way in this desert of the Pandemic. What strange times are we living in!
